Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron Todd was a Manager in the revenue cycle practice of Wellspring Partners now a Huron Consulting Group Practice. Todd also served in various finance and operations roles at several hospitals and health systems in Minnesota.
Representative examples of Todd's engagement experience include:
Directed a comprehensive revenue cycle engagement at a community hospital in the Northwest that resulted in $1.1 million in one-time incremental cash and $8 million in annual recurring net revenue benefit. Initiatives included cash acceleration/business office redesign strategic pricing front-end redesign charge capture and clinical documentation improvement.
Led charge capture and denials management initiatives at a 3-hospital system in the Northeast that resulted in $7 million in annual recurring net revenue.
Participated on several cash acceleration/accounts receivable (AR) reduction projects that resulted in improvements in cash flow reductions in AR and sustainable process improvements.
Served as a process improvement director for an integrated delivery system in Minnesota where he was responsible for leading operations and revenue cycle improvement initiatives designed to reduce expenses and enhance net revenue. Initiatives included evaluating and enhancing the staffing and skill mix on inpatient nursing units reducing overtime FTEs and redesigning the administrative and clinical functions of hospital departments and primary care and specialty clinics to reduce FTEs and achieve improvements in work and patient flow.
Served as the revenue manager for a hospital in Minnesota where he led both hospital and system-wide revenue enhancement and revenue cycle improvement initiatives. His team identified and implemented over $1.1 million in annual net revenue enhancement opportunities in the first year.
Served as the senior accountant of contracting and managed care for a health system in Minnesota. He performed government and 3rd party payor reimbursement analyses and 3rd party contract reviews interpretation modeling negotiations and payment settlements. In this role Todd identified and recovered several hundred thousand dollars in 3rd party underpayments.
