Sylva Bertini is the first woman to serve on the Ocean City Home Bank Board of Directors. She officially retired from her position of Vice President of IRA Administration and Private Banking in February 2000. Ms. Bertini was a dedicated employee of the bank for 21 years. She was born in Italy and studied at Rowan University and Cumberland County College following her emigration to the United States after World War II. She was the co owner and operator of J&B delicatessen in Vineland and of J&B delicatessen, summer business, in Ocean City for 20 years. Ms. Bertini is a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Ocean City and for the sick at Shore Memorial Hospital. She is a trustee for the Friends of the Ocean City Pops, Inc., a member of the Ocean City Food Bank and a supporter of the Urban Promise Ministries in Camden, NJ. Ms. Bertini resides in Ocean City with her husband, Marino. The couple has three daughters. |
