Sherman has more than 15 years of experience in distressed and special situation as an investor and/or lender and as a financial advisor. Sherman provides various financial advisory and corporate restructuring services to debtors and creditors both in and out of court. Sherman is also focused on initiating and providing financial advice in special situation/opportunistic M&A transactions and "rescue" financing opportunities.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron Sherman was a Managing Director at Glass & Associates where he was responsible for managing the firm's relationships with hedge funds and private equity sponsors. Sherman co-founded JME Management LLC a distressed and special situation investment vehicle. While at JME Sherman played a key role in the formation of an investor group and in raising financing for the acquisition of Diversified Machines (Uniboring Inc) by the Carlyle Group and JME.
Prior to JME Sherman was a research analyst at Long Drive Management Trust the proprietary distressed investment group of Nomura Securities. Sherman was as a Director at CIBC World Markets in Leveraged Finance and PricewaterhouseCoopers in Financial Advisory Services where he advised both companies and creditor committees in financial restructuring transactions. Sherman began his career At Chase Manhattan Bank.
