Scott H. Williamson was named senior vice president of Acquisitions and Corporate Development for Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. in 1998. His responsibilities include corporate development, planning, and directing the acquisition initiatives of TDS’s business units, U.S. Cellular and TDS Telecom. Williamson joined TDS in 1995 as vice president of Acquisitions.
Williamson came to TDS from FMC Corporation, where he was named vice president of Corporate Development in 1993. Earlier, he served as vice president of Acquisitions and Development for Itel Corporation. He began his career as special assistant to the chairman at Northwest Industries, where he participated in the restructuring and eventual sale of the company in 1985.
Williamson is a member of the Executive Council of the International Engineering Consortium, an organization of academic and industry leaders dedicated to innovative continuing education in telecommunications. He is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and its Telecommunications and Information Technology Subcommittee.
Williamson holds a Ph.D. in Finance from the Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Princeton University. |
