Ralph E. Heyman concentrates his practice in the areas of business, tax, estate planning, probate, corporation, partnership, real estate and securities law. He focuses on problem solving and the design, negotiation and implementation of complex transactions, solutions, and plans. Mr. Heyman received his B.A., magna cum laude, in Public Administration from Dartmouth College, where he was a Rufus Choat Scholar; his LL.B., cum laude, from Harvard University Law School, where he assisted A. James Casner in his estate planning treatise; and his LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Cincinnati, where he wrote for the Law Review and later lectured on estate planning. In addition to his extensive educational background, Mr. Heyman has been a lecturer for the Southwest Ohio Tax Institute, the University of Dayton School of Law, the Dayton Area Tax Professional Society and the Dayton Bar Association. His professional memberships include: the American Bar Association, Section of Taxation, Committees on Partnership, Real Estate Tax Problems, and Trust and Estates; The Group, a national association of tax planning lawyers; the Ohio State Bar Association, Tax Committee; the Dayton Bar Association Business and Tax Committee and the Probate and Estate Planning Committee; and the Cincinnati Bar Association Tax and Estate Planning Committee.Mr. Heyman is listed in Who's Who in America and has been named as one of the Best Lawyers in America in the Woodward/White publication of the same name. He has also been named an "Ohio Super Lawyer" in Law & Politics Magazine and Cincinnati Magazine.He is a member of the Board and was President of the Jewish Federation of Dayton from 1994 to 1997, received the Robert Shapiro Volunteer Award in 1998, and was Chairman of its Foundation from 1988 to 1993. He is also a past National Trustee and Head Co-Chair of the National Council for Community and Justice of Dayton and recipient of the NCCJ Humanitarian Award in 1997. He is a member of the Dayton Bicycle Club. Mr. Heyman was elected trustee of the Planned Giving council of Greater Dayton in 1998 and has served on the Boards of the United Way, Miami Valley School, St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation, Temple Israel, where he was President from 1974 to 1976, Temple Israel Foundation, where he has served as President, and the Montgomery County Regional Zoning Commission. |
