George C. McKann is a partner in the Corporate and Securities Practice Group who concentrates his practice in the counseling of corporations, directors and special committees in corporate governance matters and general disclosure obligations. He also represents corporations in mergers and acquisitions and public securities offerings. George is a past chair of the firm's corporate and international practices and is a past president of The World Law Group, an international network of independent firms located in the major commercial cities around the world.
George has represented a diverse number of public and private corporations in manufacturing, software, health care and consumer products, telecommunications and retail industries. He also acts as counsel to underwriters in the public offering of securities. He is a member of the Federal Regulation of Securities Committee and the International Section of the American Bar Association and the International Bar Association. He is the author of various articles on mergers and acquisitions, equity financing and corporate compliance matters and has spoken before professional groups, including the Chicago Bar Association, the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education, Northwestern University’s Ray Garrett, Jr. Corporate and Securities Law Institute, the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, the Practicing Law Institute, and numerous trade associations and industry groups. |
