Doug became Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Crum & Forster’s insurance operating subsidiaries, and President and Chief Executive Officer of Crum & Forster Holdings Corp, the parent company of the insurance subsidiaries. Since graduating from Harvard Law School in 1977 Doug has had three separate careers: 1989 - 2008: Chairman, President and CEO of Seneca Insurance Company, a specialty and E&S company headquartered in New York City, with a statutory combined ratio for the past 15 years of approximately 90%. In August 2000, Seneca became a subsidiary of Crum & Forster. Doug assumed the leadership role at Seneca while acting as a Principal of Odyssey Partners, L. P., a New York based LBO firm. 1982 - 1989: Managing Director and General Counsel of L. F. Rothschild & Co., Inc., a New York investment banking firm specializing in high technology IPO’s and fixed income trading and transactions. 1977 - 1982: Associate at Kelley, Drye and Warren and then at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, leading securities and litigation firms in New York City. Doug graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard College with a degree in history. |
