Craig Kissel is the new president of Trane Commercial Systems, effective Jan. 1, 2004.
Trane Commercial Systems, the largest part of American Standard's Air Conditioning Systems and Services business, is a leading global supplier of air conditioning and heating systems and services for commercial and industrial customers, as well as schools, hospitals and government facilities.
Craig previously served with American Standard Companies as president of the Vehicle Control Systems (VCS) business, which sells products under the WABCO brand name. He had held this position since 1998. With revenues of more than (US) $1 billion, the VCS business is the world's leading producer of electronic braking, stability control, air suspension and transmission systems for heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
Craig is also chairman of the American Standard Ethics and Integrity Council, a group of 12 senior business leaders. In May 2002, the council launched a set of company values intended as guiding principles for employees as they conduct their business relationships with customers, suppliers and each other.
Prior to leading the VCS business, Craig spent 17 years in various management positions in both the commercial and residential parts of our air conditioning business, including vice president and group executive of the North American Unitary Products business.
Craig graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in Oceanography. After serving five years in the U.S. Navy, he attended Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., and graduated in 1980 with a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. |
