The group's principal activity is to provide asset and non-asset-based transportation services integrated by technology. The activities are carried out through four segments namely: yellow transportation, roadway express, new penn and meridian iq. The yellow transportation division provides transportation services for the movement of industrial, commercial, and retail goods through its regional, national and international networks of terminals. Roadway express is involved in transporting industrial, commercial and retail goods with variety of innovative services. New penn is ltl carrier of general commodities. The meridian iq segment provides domestic and international freight forwarding, multi-modal brokerage and transportation management services. The group operates in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico. During the year 2003, the group acquired roadway corporation.
