Xiaogui Miao received a BSc (1982) from the University of Science and Technology of China, a MS (1987) from the Institute of Geophysics, Academy Sinica, and a PhD (1995) from the University of Manitoba. Xiaogui has worked in the industry since 1982 and joined Veritas in 1994. She is a Senior Research Geophysicist at Veritas and is based in Calgary, Alberta.
Xiaogui has published papers in wavelet transform, noise attenuation, matching pursuit decomposition, converted wave anisotropic velocity analyses, and pre-stack time and depth imaging. She has recently developed a theory on true amplitude weights for converted wave pre-stack migration, and is working on high-resolution spectral decomposition for attribute analysis as well.
Xiaogui has experience with wavelet transformation, high-resolution spectral decomposition, noise attenuation, prestack time and depth migration and modelling, multicomponent land, OBC and VSP data processing, and anisotropic analysis for p and c waves. Xiaogui's project experience covers western Canada, the Gulf Coast, offshore Far East, North Sea and China.
Xiaogui is a member of the CSEG, SEG and IEEE. |
