Mr Wong graduated with an honours degree from the Nanyang University in 1977. In Oct 1977 he started his career with Singapore Airlines (SIA) and was involved in the set up of the Airlines Cargo Reservation and Operation System. Mr Wong left to set up IPACS in 1983. He pioneered the Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) technology for the Singapore Trade and Customs Declaration and developed software catering to the Freight and Transport industry. Under his leadership, IPACS was among the top 50 privately held companies to receive the Singapore Enterprise 50 Award for four consecutive years from 1995 to 1998. Mr Wong made significant moves into China and is commonly known to be one of the early Singapore entrepreneurs who has successfully ventured into the Chinese market. Kewill announced the acquisition of IPACS e-Solutions (S) Pte Ltd ("IPACS e-Solutions"), a division of IPACS Asia Pte Ltd in February 2007.
Mr Wong served as a council member of the Singapore Federation of Computer Industry from 1997-1998. He also served as a Council Member of Network China from 2001 - 2006. |
