William Wright is a Shareholder in the San Francisco office and is a member of the Firm's Bank and Finance and Business Practices Groups.
Mr. Wright's areas of practice are corporate and commercial finance, including corporate banking, acquisition financing, syndications, mezzanine investments, complex debt restructurings and reorganizations, credit enhancements, equity and debt private placements, venture financing, portfolio sales, and asset-based lending in a variety of industries including financial services, securities, healthcare, major league sports, agri-business, technology, telecommunications, and transportation, and implicating a wide range of substantive issues including usury, Regulation D, Rule 144, Investment Company Act of 1940, Regulation U, suretyship and guaranty, choice of law and forum, Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code and other secured transactions law, and intellectual property.
Mr. Wright is an author and lecturer on topics relating to finance and securities for organizations including the California Continuing Education of the Bar, the Commonwealth Club of California, the State Bar of California, the American Bar Association and the California Bankers Association.
His professional activities include the Business Law Section, American Bar Association, Commercial Financial Services and Banking Law Committees (Subcommittee on Loan Workouts and Bankruptcy, former chair); Business Law Section, State Bar of California(Uniform Commercial Code Committee, former chair; Subcommittee on Investment Property, former chair)
Mr. Wright earned his B.S. in Economics from Krannert School, Purdue University. He received his J.D. from Boalt Hall Law School, University of California, Berkeley. He is a Certified Trial Counsel of the Judge Advocate General of the United States Army and served with the 164th Combat Aviation Group in Vietnam.
