William Shinker has had a 30-year career in book selling and trade book publishing, beginning as a clerk in an independent bookstore. Prior to Gotham, he was the President and Founding Publisher of Broadway Books, a division of Random House. Prior to that, he had been Publisher of Adult Trade Publishing at HarperCollins; Vice President, Director of Marketing and Publisher of Trade Paperbacks at Warner Books; and Marketing Director for Avon Books, then a division of the Hearst Corporation.
