William "Bill" Gillette is a serial entrepreneur with over 25 years of strategic product development in a wide range of global markets, from consumer products to high-tech and medical products. In 1985 he founded a product design and engineering consulting company with offices in New York where he pioneered the use of an all-digital, rapid and concurrent product development process emphasizing "from art to part."
Bill has worked on many hand-held ergonomic products for the medical and computer interface markets, including powered consumer and professional dental devices. He holds several patents in the field of X-Ray film processing, solar power, water filtration, and antimicrobial technology. He has broad experience in building and managing global virtual product development teams focused on the strategic use of innovation, technology, branding, and market positioning to help build strong company valuation. Bill has held several posts positioning him as 'head of innovation and new products' for such companies as Bausch & Lomb and Waterpik.
He has studied Mechanical Engineering in New York, Composites at MIT, and taught Industrial Design at Syracuse University. Currently based in northern Colorado, Bill Gillette recently founded the Wild River Salmon company in 2005 to focus on developing and marketing proprietary company-branded gourmet cuisine and organic-based Alaskan salmon products targeted to upscale markets.
