Dr. Brumsickle joined SoftSwitching Technologies in 1998, where he now leads all research, development and product planning initiatives. Dr. Brumsickle brings an extensive background in power-related research and considerable technical knowledge to his role. After serving as industrial applications engineer for static power conversion products at Enerpro, Inc., he participated in research projects for soft switching converters, active power filters, power electronics building blocks (PEBB), large-scale UPS, and traction-drive applications of high-voltage transistors under the Wisconsin Electronic Machines and Power Electronics Consortium (WEMPEC) at the University of Wisconsin Madison. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, has 15 published papers and serves as chairman of the Voltage Sags Analysis chapter of IEEE Std 493-2007, Design of Reliable Industrial and Commercial Power Systems. His professional interests include power electronics conversion for utility and industrial applications, soft switching inverter design and control, and the physics, monitoring and mitigation of power quality disturbances. Dr. Brumsickle received his B.S. in physics from the University of Washington, Seattle, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering (power and energy systems) from the University of Wisconsin Madison. |
