In January 2006, William J. Ashley was promoted to Chief Executive Officer of Glencoe Group Holdings Ltd., RenaissanceRe's individual risk business segment, which includes primary insurance and quota share reinsurance lines. Mr. Ashley adds the role of Chief Executive Officer to his existing roles as President and Chief Underwriting Officer of Glencoe Group Holdings Ltd. and each of its operating subsidiaries.
Mr. Ashley joined the Glencoe team in 2001 as Vice President on the Glencoe team. In his most recent role as President and Chief Underwriting Officer, he has been responsible for leading all operational and underwriting aspects of the Glencoe group, including program and reinsurance underwriting.
Mr. Ashley has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, including 12 years focusing on primary insurance. Before joining Glencoe, he was Executive Vice President of Strategic Operations and Risk Management at Benfield Blanch (EW Blanch), where he was responsible for the development of Blanch's catastrophe model, "Catalyst". He worked closely with clients to develop catastrophe exposure management plans and also developed techniques and tools for portfolio optimization. Mr. Ashley holds the CPCU designation and a B.S. in Industrial Technology from Illinois State University. |
