Dr. Ackerman was board certified in Internal Medicine in 1976. He was also board certified in Pulmonary Disease in 1980, Geriatric Medicine (Internal Medicine) in 1994, and Critical Care in 1986. Dr. Ackerman received his medical degree from the University of New York at Buffalo in 1973. His internship and residency were at the University of California, San Diego. He was chief resident at UCSD Medical Center. His fellowships in Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care were also at UCSD Medical Center. Currently, he is a Professor of Medicine (Clinical) at the University of California, San Diego. He was elected fellow of the American College of Physicians in 1982 and the American College of Chest Physicians in 1984. |
