Mr. Dallas is a dedicated entrepreneur. Recently, Mr. Dallas, along with CIVC partners and a group of private investors, acquired the stock of Woodland Hills, CA based Oakmont Mortgage, now Ownit Mortgage Solutions. Mr. Dallas now serves as the Chairman and CEO of the company. Ownit Mortgage Solutions is an industry leader in non-agency residential lending.
In 1981 he co-founded First Franklin Financial Corporation, and has served as its Chairman, CEO & Chairman Emeritus. First Franklin is the nation's leading nonprime wholesale lender and is now a subsidiary of National City Bank (NYSE:NCC). Bill also co-founded Heritage Bank of Commerce (NASDAQ:HTBC), a community business bank serving Silicon Valley in 1995.
After leaving day-to-day management of First Franklin, Mr. Dallas returned to Dallas Capital Management, the private-equity, advisory firm in Westlake Village, California, that he founded in 1999 to diversify his financial interests. Today, Dallas Capital owns, advises and or operates several successful companies; Ownit Mortgage Solutions, Sysdome (formerly Affinity), MindBox LLC, and in 2001, Bill and his partner Bill Freeman co-founded B&B Restaurant Ventures with Fox Sports. The New York-based television network launched FOX SPORTS GRILL on November 7, 2002 with a grand opening in Scottsdale, Arizona and then followed up with openings at the Irvine Spectrum June 26, 2003, Seattle, October 29, 2003, New York at the West Nyack Palisades Mall July 21, 2004 and most recently at the Houston Galleria on November 7, 2004. FOX SPORTS GRILL has created a "new category" of restaurant/sports bar by elevating the guest experience through an upscale yet casual environment, signature food, personalized event service, live and behind-the-scenes Fox Sports broadcasts, and Fox-style entertainment. Fox Sports Grill was given the prestigious 2004 "Hot Concept" Award by Nations Restaurant news and have planned nationwide roll-out.
Mr. Dallas is Chairman and CEO of Sysdome Corporation and MindBox LLC. Sysdome provides customers with critical decision-support tools that dramatically enhance loan quality. Through delivery of its newest web-based product, Electronic Loan Review (ELR), Sysdome combines complex investigative logic, and a powerful database system to help customers validate, authenticate and interpret data "real-time" so fraud can be detected more quickly and accurately. Sysdome is based in Southern California. MindBox, a maker of software that automates complex business decisions is based in Northern California, has an impressive track record in many industries, and received the Mortgage Banking Industry's coveted 10X award in 2003.
Mr. Dallas also helps other entrepreneurs in the financial services arena grow their enterprises. He is Chairman of Diversified Capital Corporation, a multi-office origination enterprise in Northern California; a board member with LoanCity and with Trestle Holdings (NASDAQ:TLHO.OB). He earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from Bowling Green State University (1977), Magna cum Laude, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University Of Santa Clara School Of Law (1987). He is recent recipient of 2002 BGSU Accomplished Graduate Award and holds the coveted CMB (Certified Mortgage Banker) designation; the highest designation in the mortgage banking business.
Outside of his business interests, Mr. Dallas just retired as Chairman of California Lutheran University. He is championing the next generation of entrepreneurs at The Entrepreneurial Programs Innovation Center at Bowling Green State University. He is a full-time resident and former board member of Sherwood Country Club, is a Founder and Grand Patron of Alliance for the Arts in Thousand Oaks, California, and is Founder and Board member of Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village.
