William D. Davis was named president and chief executive officer of Learning Care Group in July 2002, and prior to the company’s purchase by A.B.C. Learning Centres, served as a member of its board of directors. Prior to holding his current position, Davis was the president and CEO of Tutor Time Learning Systems from March 2002 to July 2002, before the company was acquired by Childtime Learning Centers, Inc. and re-branded Learning Care Group, Inc.
Davis also was President and Chief Executive Officer of ChefExpress.net, Inc., an integrated food solution company, from January 2000 to June 2001. Prior to that, he was an owner and board member of Rondele Acquisition LLC, d/b/a Rondele Specialty Foods. Davis joined Rondele Foods as partner in January 1996 and he served as chairman of the newly-formed company, Rondele Specialty Foods, based in Wausau, Wisconsin, until its sale in December 2004.
From March 1995 to December 1998 Davis served as partner and CEO of Waterbury Holdings of Vermont, a specialty foods holding company . In his association with the company, Davis held the position of partner and CEO of the affiliates, including McKenzie LLC; All Season’s Kitchen LLC; Franklin County Cheese Corporation; Rondele Foods; Waterbury Fresh Food; and Frank Hahn Incorporated. Davis also was president and CEO of Cabot Creamery from 1985 to 1994.
Born in Morrisville, Vermont on September 19, 1949, Davis received a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Vermont in 1971. Davis also served as a member of the United States Army, rising to the rank of major prior to being honorably discharged in 1984. He was active in the Young Presidents’ Organization, which aims to help business leaders under the age of 45 better their leadership skills through education and idea exchange.
Davis currently serves on the board of Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR) as chairman of the Audit Committee. He has been a member of the GMCR board since 1993. |
