Bill Roper is president and chief executive officer of VeriSign, the leading provider of digital infrastructure for the networked world. Having served as a director of VeriSign since November 2003, Mr. Roper became president and CEO in May 2007.
Most recently, Mr. Roper served as executive vice president of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a global, diversified technology services company with annual revenues in excess of $8 billion and approximately 44,000 employees in more than 150 offices around the world. From 1990 to 2000, he also served as SAIC's chief financial officer, where he was responsible for a number of transformational transactions that dramatically reshaped SAIC. During that time, he played a leadership role in Network Solutions from its acquisition by SAIC in 1995 through its merger with VeriSign in 2000.
Prior to joining SAIC, Mr. Roper spent 22 years in senior management positions in banking, private enterprises and public companies involved in information technology.
Mr. Roper holds a B.A. degree in Mathematics from the University of Mississippi and graduated from the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. |
