Walter has over 21 years experience working in the cable television and data communications industry. For three years as a MediaOne Senior Network Engineer, Walter was a key team member responsible for the design, implementation and execution of one of the largest cable modem services in the United States. He also managed corporate private broadband data networks such as EDS, Exeter Hospital, Boston College and dozens of institutional networks serving municipalities across New England. Walter connected the first commercial customers to cable modems and has been a liaison between customers, equipment vendors and the broadband cable provider. Prior to this, he worked for three years at MIT's Lincoln Laboratory ('92-'95) and eight years ('84-'92) for Allied Data, providing network/telecomm integration and support for Fortune 100 companies such as Kraft, General Foods/Phillip Morris, Georgia Pacific, GM, NCNB Bank, Alcoa, Chevron, Wang, Martin Marietta, and the Treasury Department's U.S. Customs Office. Prior to working in the computer networking industry he held several positions in the Cable TV industry , from new cable system construction supervisory roles to plant design and buildout. |
