Mr. Kunicki joined Wisconsin Electric (doing business as We Energies) in 1998 as director-State Government Affairs. He was elected vice president - Customer Relations, effective January 2000, and was named vice president - Wisconsin Energy and vice president and general manager - Minergy in August 2001. He was named President and Chief Executive Officer of Minergy in December 2005.
Prior to coming to Wisconsin Electric he served as representative for Wisconsin’s 8th Assembly District. Mr. Kunicki was first elected to the state Assembly in 1980. He served as speaker of the assembly from 1991 to 1995 and was the minority leader from 1995 to 1998.
During his time in the legislature, Mr. Kunicki served on a number committees including the Joint Committee on Employment Relations, the Joint Committee on Legislative Organization, and as chairman of the Joint Committee on Finance.
He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee in 1980.
Mr. Kunicki is a member of the State Legislative Leaders Foundation and the National Speakers Conference.
