Walker Coleman is an experienced litigator who concentrates his practice in the area of complex, high-stakes litigation, with an emphasis on employment, intellectual property and commercial litigation. He has represented corporations and employers in numerous industries, including: automotive, aviation, banking, beverage, cable, chemical, construction, entertainment, government contracts, health care, insurance, manufacturing, medical device, plumbing fixtures, resort and hospitality, restaurant, shipping, snack food, steel, telecommunications and textiles.
Mr. Coleman has successfully handled cases for numerous regional, national and international companies involving:
Race, national origin, sex, gender, religious, pregnancy, age and disability discrimination and harassment under Title VII, Section 1981, the ADA, and/or the ADEA
Pay and overtime issues under the FLSA and the South Carolina Payment of Wages Act

Breach of employment and confidentiality agreements, breach of noncompetition agreements and employment-related torts
Misappropriation and use of trade secrets, copyright infringement and other intellectual property disputes
Defective medical device, pharmaceutical and other product claims.

Mr. Coleman has also handled class action and multi-district litigation involving discrimination claims and defective product claims.
In addition, Mr. Coleman routinely advises corporations on employment issues surrounding plant shutdowns, reductions in force and the sale and acquisition of domestic and foreign businesses, including issues arising under the WARN Act and the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act. He advises corporations on executive terminations and preparing and negotiating severance packages. Mr. Coleman is approved by numerous insurance companies to handle cases involving employment-related claims and business tort claims.
Mr. Coleman is a frequent speaker and author on employment law topics and has spoken to audiences throughout the country.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Coleman served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy, where he ultimately attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander. |
