Wade Close is a Managing Director for the Boyden office located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He joined Boyden in the mid-eighties following four years with National Steel Corporation as a General Manager of Sales - Eastern Region overseeing six district offices covering the east, southeast and Ohio. Prior to that, he was General Manager Administration and handled personnel administration and staffing for the corporation's commercial organization. Prior to joining National Steel, Wade was in various marketing, sales and product management positions with Jones & Laughlin Steel Corporation (later LTV Steel).
In addition to a successful tenure in the steel industry, Wade spent seven years in proprietary education functioning as President of the Art Institute of Atlanta and Vice President of Education Management Corporation (EdMC). Wade headed a paralegal training program for EdMC in Atlanta and earlier had been Vice President of Massey Business College
Over the many years with Boyden, Wade has been particularly successful in handling senior-level management and Board assignments for clients in numerous process and heavy industry segments such as steel, automotive, ferrous and non-ferrous materials, machinery, industrial equipment, mining, and general distribution. In addition, Wade has completed a broad range of search assignments for associations, academe, packaging and printing, plastics, non-profit organizations, public utilities, healthcare, real estate development and others.
Wade is presently on the board of the Brother's Brother Foundation (having served as Chairman and Treasurer) and previously served as a board member for the Fox Chapel District Association and was on the Board of The Pittsburgh Experiment. Wade is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut where he has served on the Board of Fellows.
