As Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing at Truman Medical Centers, Vicki Smith provides leadership and strategic direction in the areas of strategic communications, branding, marketing and public relations.
Vicki brings more than 20 years of business experience in the areas of marketing, branding and public relations. Prior to joining Truman Medical Centers in 2007, Vicki was managing partner and co-owner of VSquared Productions, Inc., an independent marketing and media firm that provides marketing and media consulting, program development and project support to small and mid-size businesses and non-profits. As an extension of her business, she co-developed and launched two consumer websites, providing resource tools and editorial content on topics of interest regarding home, health, family and business to area women and parents.
Vicki’s corporate business experience includes work in the non-profit, telecommunications and energy sectors. She has worked for several Fortune 100 companies including Aquila and Sprint. While at Aquila, where she served as Vice President of Marketing and Branding, Vicki directed the marketing, advertising and communications efforts of 18 business units and 5 international offices. She was instrumental in strategic planning, brand management, marketing partnerships, product marketing and re-launching the brand. At Sprint, she held a number of marketing positions including Sr. Marketing Manager for Small Business Marketing and Product Manager for Voice Technology. As Director of Corporate Communications with Ferrellgas, she managed all external and internal communications. In the non-profit sector, Vicki’s role was the oversight of the day-to-day operations, community advocacy and counseling for several group homes that served mentally retarded and developmentally disabled adults.
Although a relative newcomer to the healthcare industry, in 2005 Vicki became a volunteer and member of the Women’ Health Partners Council for TMC’s Charitable Foundation where she lead the marketing efforts for Fashion a For a Cause, a fundraiser benefiting the Women’s Health Programs. In 2006, she began providing marketing consultation to the Charitable Foundation on key initiatives.
Vicki holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from William Jewell College and Master of Arts degree from the University of Missouri.
In her spare time she pursues her interests of the culinary arts, traveling, photography and enjoying time with family, friends and her German Shepherd. In addition, Vicki volunteers and serves on a number of community organizations. |
