Veronica Dillon became vice president general counsel and corporate secretary of The Washington Post Company in January 2007. She had been executive vice president chief administrative officer and chief legal officer of Kaplan Inc. Dillon was responsible for all legal real estate human resources communications and administrative functions of Kaplan. Formerly Dillon served as general counsel. In that role she oversaw the acquisition of over 30 companies in the U.S. and abroad.
Dillon joined Kaplan in February 1991 as corporate counsel. Prior to joining Kaplan she was assistant general counsel at Macmillan Inc. from 1982 through 1990. She had served as a staff attorney at the New York Regional Office of the Federal Trade Commission from 1980 to 1982 with responsibility for consumer protection and antitrust matters.
Dillon received a BA from St. Johns in 1971 and taught at the Commander Shea School in Manhattan for two years. After graduating from Fordham Law School in 1976 she served as an associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett for four years. Dillon was a member of the Girl Scouts Council of Greater New York from 1978-1984.
