Vanessa Jacobsen is a partner at Eimer Stahl Klevorn & Solberg LLP. She has experience in a wide variety of commercial litigation matters before state and federal courts, including contract, fraud and business tort cases, antitrust lawsuits and counseling and corporate criminal matters. Representative cases include the following: Representing UOP LLC, which provides cutting-edge technology to the petroleum refining, gas processing, petrochemical production and major manufacturing industries, in contract and tort disputes in various jurisdictions, including a recent victory before a Texas Court of Appeals. Representing Hollinger Inc., a Canadian mutual fund holding company, in a complex corporate fraud lawsuit and related securites class actions, SEC litigation and federal criminal investigation. Defending and prosecuting on behalf of Praxair Inc., a global, Fortune 300 supplier of atmospheric, process and specialty gases, in several antitrust, business tort and contract disputes. Defending CITGO Petroleum Corporation in a variety of matters, including 49 class actions filed in 28 states over the sale of temperature adjusted fuel at the retail level. Representing Commonwealth Edison Company in a number of litigation and administrative matters in Illinois state court and before the Illinois Commerce Commission, including contractual disputes and matters stemming from the deregulation of the electricity industry in Illinois. Before joining Eimer Stahl at its founding, Vanessa was an associate at Sidley & Austin in Chicago. In 1997, Vanessa graduated with honors and Order of the Coif from DePaul University College of Law, where she served as an editor of the DePaul Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree magna cum laude from Valparaiso University in 1994. |
