Valerie Judd is general manager of the Blanc & Otus' Austin office. She has over 20 years experience in marketing and communications of technology products and services. Val joined the firm in November1999 to train and supervise account managers and to help grow the Austin operation.
At Blanc & Otus, Val provides senior strategic counsel to a variety of technology clients, manages the office operations, and generates new business for the office.
Before joining Blanc & Otus, Val was an account supervisor with another Austin PR and advertising firm. During her tenure there, she was responsible for building and managing the agency's technology client base. She worked with high-profile high-tech companies in telecom, Internet search engines, Web content development tools, IT consulting, ERP management software, and semiconductor chip manufacturing.
Val's technology marketing experience is from both the agency and corporate sides of the business. Prior to moving to Austin in 1996, Val worked for Rockwell International in Iowa, where she help build a sales and marketing team for a division marketing satellite communications systems. She also spent seven years with a marketing/advertising/PR firm as a senior account executive representing high-tech clients in hand-held computer hardware/software, telecommunications, networking and vertical market application software. She managed a full spectrum of marketing communications needs for her clients including public relations, print and broadcast advertising, videos, direct mail, collateral development, media planning and research.
Val received a BA degree from Cornell College. She has attended numerous post-graduate courses and seminars in sales, marketing, advertising and public relations. She has also taught advertising and sales courses through the University of Iowa and local community colleges. As president of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Cedar Rapids Chapter in 1993-1994, Val led the organization to achieve national recognition for programs and membership.
Currently, she actively attends and participates in local groups such as the Austin Technology Council (ATC), American Marketing Association (AMA), and AWT (Austin Women in Technology).
