Under the direction and leadership of founder O. Tyrone Barnett, Diverse Technologies Corporation (DTC) has experienced tremendous growth and received numerous accolades. As chairman and chief executive officer, Mr. Barnett develops the company's long-term strategic plans and represents Diverse Technologies in its day-to-day relationships with the community and the government and private sector industry. Mr. Barnett has many years of technical experience working with the Department of Defense (DOD) in the areas of information technology, finance and logistics. Previously, Mr. Barnett served 20 years in the U.S. Navy where he held a variety of leadership and management positions related to supply systems and logistical planning for the Navy. He also developed programs for research and development in the Navy that were used by the Navy Fleet to improve its operations. He also was responsible for the preparation of Navy nuclear tests and the development of internal review procedures to ensure proper disposal of nuclear waste. Mr. Barnett's background in the Navy also includes extensive experience in the administration of planning and budgeting for various telecommunications programs. In the area of logistics, his experience ranged from managing Navy shipyard industrial material operations to managing repairs. Throughout Mr. Barnett's military career, his work consistently produced cost-effective solutions and efficient programs for the Navy. He retired in 1986 as a Navy Commander, Supply Corps. Mr. Barnett received a bachelor's of science degree in biology from Ohio State University and a master's degree in administration education from Pepperdine University in Los Angeles. He also completed various courses in graduate studies and basic management of DOD acquisition contracts. In addition, he completed numerous DOD courses on the topics of test and evaluation, engineering data analysis, system acquisition and research and development. |
