Mr. Yoshino advises a broad range of clients on specialized issues arising under federal and state consumer protection statutes. He has significant experience with both private and public enforcement actions in regulatory proceedings, alternative dispute resolution, and in all phases of trial and appellate litigation. Statutory Disclosure Claims Mr. Yoshino is active in the defense of claims alleged under truth-in-lending laws, debt collection statutes, federal and state privacy laws, consumer protection laws, and a number of similar statutes. Coordinated Class Action and Complex Proceedings Mr. Yoshino is active in the coordination and litigation of class actions and other complex claims, including alien tort claims, consumer protection, financial services, products liability, statutory disclosure, employment, and other matters. He is often extensively involved in the coordination of litigation/regulatory activities and strategies between numerous pending proceedings in multiple fora. Cross-Border Litigation Mr. Yoshino advises companies on a host of issues that arise in cross-border litigation, including alien tort claims, Hague Convention issues, jurisdictional challenges, abstention/stay arguments, and other matters. National Coordination Strategy and Programs Mr. Yoshino frequently represents clients in nationally coordinated proceedings and develops strategies for a broad range of issues, both substantive and procedural. Civil Appeals and Writs Mr. Yoshino is also experienced in handling appellate proceedings in a wide variety of areas, including constitutional law, class action practice, consumer protection, insurance coverage, jurisdictional, and preemption matters. |
