Travis Parashonts Biography :

Mr. Parashonts is a member of the Cedar Band of Paiutes of the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah. He graduated from Milford High School in 1972. He attended what was known as Southern Utah State College, graduating in 1979 with a BA degree in Sociology, minor in Psychology and he received certificates in Gerontology and Social Work. He has taken courses towards his Masters of Social Work and Masters of Public Administration from the University of Utah and Utah State University. Mr. Parashonts is the President of Suh'dutsing Technologies, LLC. A tribally owned company of the Cedar Band of Paiutes. He is the creator and founder of the company which provides IT systems services to the government and private industry. The company focuses on today's digital economy and provides highly educated and trained specialists from a qualified team to ensure its customer's success and growth in a timely manner and supports the clients' IT requirements. Suh’dutsing also provides computer related services that specialize in data entry, administration and office support, customer support, capital planning and architecture, help desk support, data processing, data storage, data warehousing, software and hardware sales, equipment sales, network administration, inbound and outbound services, call centers, and other technological computer related services. He has worked as the Director of Economic Development and Grant Writer for the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah. His responsibilities include marketing tribal assets, developing feasibility studies, exploring economic development opportunities, and writing proposals for federal contracts and grants. He is familiar with contract negotiations, managing large federal contracts, cost analysis, and federal regulations. He has also worked as the Tribal Administrator and Social Representative. In addition, Mr. Parashonts has worked as the Director of the State of Utah's Division of Indian Affairs, The State of Utah’s Office of Family Support, and has owned and operated Parashonts Construction, Inc. He is instrumental in starting Suh'dutsing Technologies, LLC Company for the Cedar Band of Paiutes. He also created Neung-Weunts-Wook-ahd Corporation, a Tribal Economic Development Corporation for the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah. Mr. Parashonts has served one term as Tribal Chairman, has been a member of the Paiute Tribal Council for a total of 15 years and has served as chairman of the Cedar Band of Paiutes for 17 years. He is an Honorary member of the National Governors Interstate Indian Council and has served as a board member for several organizations, including the Indian Advisory Council for the Utah Museum of Natural History, the Utah Historical and Cultural Site Review Committee, Advisory Panel for the Utah Council's Folk Arts program, American Indian Services, Indian Affiliates, Inc., the Iron County Coordinating Council, the Five County Economic Development Council, and New Frontiers for Families. The improvement of the lives of youth and families are important to him. He donates a lot of his time volunteering towards Youth and Family programs that promotes the wellness and stability of children and families in southern Utah. He co-created the Pee’soats-eng project that helps improve youth’s academic level within the school system, cultural awareness, and family unity. He also serves and Board chairman of New Frontier for Families, a non profit organization that works in all of southwest Utah promoting the stability of youth and families and working with at risk children and disadvantaged families.
