Ms. Salisbury is co-chair of the Litigation Department and a member of the Firm’s Management Committee. She has litigated many types of complex business disputes, including contract disputes, business torts, intellectual property, business valuation and property tax matters in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels and in administrative tribunals. Ms. Salisbury has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in patent, trademark, unfair competition and trade secret matters. Her clients have included individuals, financial institutions, insurance companies, large law firms, partnerships, close and publicly held corporations, distributors, manufacturers and cable television companies.
Ms. Salisbury has extensive experience representing clients in arbitrations, mediations and other alternative dispute resolution proceedings. She counsels clients regularly in all areas of her practice, with an emphasis on the rights, duties and obligations among employers, officers, directors, employees, partners and/or shareholders in connection with employment separations, corporate and partnership dissolutions and the formation of competing businesses.
PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Ms. Salisbury is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in California. She has litigated extensively in the federal district and superior courts in the Bay Area and surrounding counties, and in federal district courts in southern California, Texas and Florida. Ms. Salisbury has served as chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee of the Litigation Section of the State Bar of California and as an arbitrator for the Alameda County Superior Court. Ms. Salisbury has been a speaker on real estate contracts, partnership compensation, and alternative dispute resolution.
Ms. Salisbury is Secretary of the Bar Association of San Francisco Foundation Board of Directors and a member of the Board of Directors of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano. She is past president of the Moraga Baseball Association and the Contra Costa Crisis Center Board of Trustees. Ms. Salisbury was named a California Super Lawyer for 2007 by Law & Politics and was also named among the Bay Area’s Top Lawyers in Business Litigation by Bay Area Lawyer Magazine.
EDUCATION
Ms. Salisbury graduated from the University of South Carolina with a B.A. in international relations in 1979 (magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). She graduated cum laude in 1982 from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she was an editor of the South Carolina Law Review, Order of the Coif, and a legal writing instructor.
