Tony Bugel brings over 35 years of financial leadership experience to his recent position of Chief Financial Officer for Calvert Health Partners. Prior to joining Calvert Health Partners, Mr. Bugel provided financial leadership to companies in need of financial leadership through Tatumn CFO Partners, LLC. Mr. Bugel was responsible for development of financial management healthcare consulting practice for payer and provider market segments for IBM Corporation Public Sector Financial Management. He was the primary point of contact for healthcare industry for Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance solution. Prior to joining IBM Mr. Bugel served as the Vice President Business Development and Finance, Mid Atlantic Permanente Medical Group. Mr. Bugel launched Laser Vision Correction joint venture with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan. Provided provider contracting and documentation expertise. Negotiated favorable 2001 and 2002 Medical Group compensation and incentive agreement. As Vice-President and Chief Financial Officer, Pyramid Health, Inc, Pittsburgh, PA. Formulated and obtained Board of Director approval for 1998 breakeven medical expense budget that included modifications to Utilization Review, cap targets, fees schedules and provider-hospital risk sharing. Administered four capitated ancillary medical service contracts. He directed all financial activities of the company and acted as principal financial contact for the Board of Directors, Shareholder Organizations, and contracted HMO. Mr. Bugel has earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees form Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA and attended post-graduate studies focused in accounting practice at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL.
