As the first rock critic for the Washington Post, Tom spent 15 years as a journalist before turning his attention to creating and launching technology start-ups. Over the last two decades, he has focused on creating companies that strive to create new business opportunities in their respective markets. In 1986, Tom took public AXLON, a high-tech toy company. Tom then founded Isix, another technology-driven entertainment company that was acquired by Hasbro. In addition, Tom cofounded Digital Pictures, the first company to create full-motion video games, and Garageband, one of the first online digital record labels. He coauthored a number of technology patents while at both companies. Tom attended the NYU School of Film & Television, and graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Georgetown University. |
