Tom Elliott, Vice President, North American Consulting, directs proprietary consulting projects in North America across a variety of communications, computing and electronics areas. He has conducted major studies to assess market potential, examine competitive positioning, evaluate product feature/functionality, and address business entry strategies in a number of areas. In addition to a deep knowledge of broadband infrastructure issues, Mr. Elliott has expertise in wireless voice and data, satellite and terrestrial communications, vehicle tracking, fleet management and other telematics services, handsets and other terminal devices, multimedia, and software. He serves as a research advisor to the Strategy Analytics Emerging Frontiers service. Mr. Elliott joined the consulting group at BIS Strategic Decisions, Strategy Analytics' predecessor company, in 1989. Prior to this he was involved in information industry consulting, both as an independent consultant and as Director of Research at International Data Corporation. Before entering the information industry, he held a succession of positions at Gulf Oil Corporation, including Manager of Corporate Strategy Development. Mr. Elliott holds an SM in Management from the Sloan School, MIT, and an AB from Harvard College. He has also done graduate work at the University of Michigan. |
