Toby advises primarily on energy risk management and trading. Toby has provided advice on risk management policies, risk management strategies, and hedge cost valuation for a number of energy trading organisations in Australasia.
Toby led a team advising on the establishment of a wholesale trading function for the state-owned energy retailer in Western Australia. He has supported commercial negotiations for the sale of generation output and the purchase of electricity for large users as well as being an advisor on the valuation of the energy book for energy industry takeovers. Toby has provided expert evidence in RMA hearings.
Toby has 25 years experience in physical and financial markets. Before establishing himself as an independent consultant Toby was the general manager responsible for electricity trading and risk management with one of New Zealand's major generator/retailers from 1996 to 2003. He was chairman of the New Zealand Electricity Market Rules Committee from 2000 to 2004.
Toby holds a bachelor of agricultural commerce (economics) from Lincoln University, New Zealand. He is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors. |
