Prior to establishing Obsidian, Mr. Durham founded and has a controlling interest in Durham Capital Corporation, Durham Hitchcock Whitesell and Company LLC, Durham, Whitesell and Associates LLC and other affiliated entities, all private holding companies, which in turn, hold controlling interests in several small to middle market companies.
Prior to establishing these holding companies, Mr. Durham served as Vice Chairman, President and CEO of Carpenter Industries, one of the largest manufacturers of school bus bodies in the country. Mr. Durham successfully grew Carpenter from $47 million in revenues in 1991 to more than $85 million in revenues in 1997. Mr. Durham positioned the company for sale in 1997.
Prior to joining Carpenter Industries, Mr. Durham practiced corporate law with Indianapolis' largest law firm, Ice Miller Donadio and Ryan. Mr. Durham is a graduate of Indiana University where he received his undergraduate degree in mathematics, and obtained his Juris Doctorate, Summa Cum Laude. |
