Since December 2001, R. Timothy Stack has served as President and CEO of Piedmont Healthcare located in Atlanta, Georgia. Under Stack’s leadership, Piedmont Hospital was named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® in 2005 and 2003 by Solucient, an Evanston, Illinois-based healthcare information company. Recently, Stack oversaw the expansion of Piedmont’s tradition of medical excellence through an agreement to purchase Mountainside Medical Center (an acute care hospital located in Jasper, Georgia, now known as Piedmont Mountainside Hospital). Stack previously served as president and CEO of Borgess Health Alliance, which includes the nationally recognized Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Mich., and was president and CEO of Borgess Medical Center, a 424-bed regional acute care hospital including nationally recognized cardiac, neurological and orthopedic care. Stack has been a board member on various healthcare industry boards, has received recognition from numerous professional organizations, including the American Hospital Association and the Healthcare Forum, and he was selected by Hospitals Magazine in 1986 as Healthcare Leader for the 21st Century. Stack is a native of Pittsburgh but currently resides in Atlanta with his wife and three sons. |
