Tim Armour 59 has been a director of Janus Capital Group since March 2008. After 10 years with Morningstar Inc. Mr. Armour recently retired as Morningstar's managing director. He was managing director of Morningstar from 2000 to 2008 President from 1999 to 2000 and Chief Operating Officer from 1998 to 1999.
From 1992 to 1998 he served as President of Stein Roe & Farnham's mutual fund division. Prior to that he was Senior Vice President and director of Marketing in Citibank's retail bank division. Mr. Armour began his career in 1975 with General Foods Corporation where he spent 12 years in product management and planning.
He earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from Gettysburg College then served as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy. After completing his tour of duty he earned his M.B.A. from Columbia University.
