Tim has more than 15 years of experience in consulting, operations, supply chain, procurement and sourcing. His industry experience spans the manufacturing, financial services, automotive, consumer products, retail, logistics and oil & gas sectors. Tim specializes in delivering rapid and sustainable EBITDA improvements and has successfully assisted clients through applying forensic data analytics to over 70 unique supply markets.
Professional Experience
Prior to joining Huron, Tim was a Principal with PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, a Manager in the risk and controls consulting practice of Coopers & Lybrand and a Vice President of Business Development for Whole Foods Market, Inc. Additionally, Tim held operational positions with Augat, Inc. in production planning, inventory management, purchasing, supply management and quality assurance. He has lived and worked extensively in Switzerland, Mexico and the United States.
Representative examples of Tim's engagement experience include:
Led strategic sourcing initiatives for a global financial services company. Delivered leading supplier contracts in key indirect categories dominated by a few large consolidated suppliers.
Led the business assessment for a leading residential real estate holding company. Assessed operational competencies and restructured the corporation into strategic profit centers.
Directed the first comprehensive spend analysis for the largest university system in the world. Managed a team of 25 consultants and over 100 client personnel at ten research universities, five academic medical centers and three national labs.
Served as chief advisor for the outsourcing of real estate and construction for the North American operations of a global oil and gas corporation. Lead advisor for supplier negotiations, selection and contract. Total program savings of over $10M were realized.
Directed the launch of a manufacturing plant in a Mexican maquiladora operation. De-commissioned a Ford Motor Tier 1 manufacturing plant in Coahuila and configured a new facility in Sonora. Project realized $5M in annual cost savings.
Co-led a quality system turnaround for a Swiss manufacturer and earned the Ford Q-1 Award. Led supplier quality assurance activities and instituted a quality operating system discipline in an all-Italian speaking business environment.
Led an 18-month program management initiative for the launch and delivery of an advanced electronic connector system for Ford Motor of Europe.
Sourced a manufacturing plant site in Northern Ireland for a global electronics producer. Negotiated contract terms, tax rates, and incentives with Northern Ireland's Industrial Development Board.
