Responsibilities included operations startup of a 40 000 tpd crushing and heap leach gold operation in Uzbekistan; director of operations during the engineering construction and operations startup of the 120 000 tpd Batu Hijau open pit mining and concentrating copper/gold project in Indonesia; Director of business development for Central Asia and Russia; Operations manager of mining in Australia; Director of operations and business development for Canada and Mexico; and Senior Manager underground operations in Nevada.
1996 to 1997 Royal Oak Gold Company:
Vice President responsible for operations of 4 gold mines Hope Brook Pamour Giant and Colomac. About 300 000 oz. annual production.
1995 to 1996 Newmont Mining Corporation:
Director of Operations Zarafshan gold project in Uzbekistan responsible for start-up.
1987 to 1995 Freeport Indonesia Copper Company:
Work responsibilities included General Superintendent of mining operations which included 2 underground mines at 15 000 tpd and one small open pit at 3 000 tpd; Mine Manager of mining operations including the discovery engineering and construction of the large open pit Grasberg copper/gold deposit and expansion from 15 000 to 35 000 tpd from 4 underground mines; and Senior Vice President responsible for operations liaison in Jakarta with the Indonesian Government.
1973 to 1995 Magma Copper Company 100% Newmont subsidiary:
Started as underground laborer engineer trainee supervisor engineer to Mine Superintendent at this large block caving mine producing about 55 000 tpd of copper ore.
