After spending most of his 11 years on the retail side of the automobile business in dealerships serviced by Service Group, Thomas Langston came to us with a vast amount of dealership experience and a great understanding and appreciation for the training provided by Service Group.
A graduate of the University of Texas, Thomas entered the automobile business in 1985 at a major import store in Dallas, Texas. Over a seven-year period, he worked his way up the ranks and eventually became the New Car Sales Manager. In this position, he achieved exceptional results and gained an understanding of how to train and motivate salespeople. Dealerships around Texas began to take notice of the excellent salesmanship Thomas exhibited. After two years as a General Sales Manager in Houston, he was back in Dallas as the General Sales Manager for two major Chevrolet dealerships. His responsibilities included operations of new and used sales, fleet sales, finance, and special finance. He directed a staff of eleven departmental managers and conducted weekly sales staff meetings for 25 new and used sales personnel. During this time, he was also heavily involved in community and customer relations and had full control of all advertising.
After a highly successful tenure as a Sales and F&I Training Specialist for Service Group, Thomas was promoted to Regional Manager. He handled the northeastern region of Texas, managing all product lines within this territory. After four consecutive years of record-level production, he was brought into the home office, receiving another promotion to Vice President of Marketing for Finance & Insurance. Thomas is a remarkable talent and Service Group is privileged to have him on board.
