Dr. Thomas Klebe has been a member of the Supervisory Board of DaimlerChrysler AG since 2003.
He is also a member of the Presidential and Mediation Committee.
Dr. Thomas Klebe was born in Brunswick, Germany in 1948.
He attended schools in Brunswick and Cologne, graduated from high school and studied law and political sciences from 1967 to 1972 at the Albertus Magnus University in Cologne. Following community service (in lieu of military service) and a period as a junior lawyer, he passed the German second state law examination and joined the legal protection department of the German trade union confederation (DGB) in Cologne. In 1980, he gained a doctorate at the University of Bremen and in 1982 left the DGB to join the Executive Council of the German Metalworkers' Union (IG Metall) in Frankfurt. Since then he has worked for the Executive Council of IG Metall in various areas, including the legal department and the international department where he focused on Asia. Thomas Klebe is currently Director of the Department for General Shop Floor Policy and Codetermination. Over the past twenty years he has been on the Supervisory Boards of numerous German companies, including Adam Opel AG and Compaq GmbH, in both cases as deputy chairman of the Supervisory Board.
He currently holds directorships at DaimlerChrysler Luft- und Raumfahrt Holding AG (DCLRH) and ThyssenKrupp Services AG.
He has published a number of works on labor law and is a lay judge in the 1st senate of the German Federal Labor Court. |
