Tom, a Managing Director of Empire Valuation Consultants, LLC, is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) of the American Society of Appraisers and has served as a past president of the New York City Chapter of that Society. He also holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. Tom has more than 20 years experience in the economic and financial analysis of the value of securities and intangible assets of public and private companies. He has managed business and intangible asset valuation projects for financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning, as well as gift, estate and income taxes. His project management experience involves a broad spectrum of clients, including companies in the manufacturing, technology, banking, financial, hospitality and service industries. Tom has also managed litigation consulting projects for such valuation issues as shareholder interests, lost profits analysis and business appraisal. He has provided expert witness testimony in Federal and State Courts and NYSE and NASD arbitration panels, as well as the American Arbitration Association. Tom has provided many lectures and presentations on business valuation and related topics. Tom’s prior experience providing business valuation services included thirteen years with Goldstein Golub Kessler LLP (now RSM McGladrey, Inc.) and six years with Deloitte & Touche. Prior to joining those accounting firms, he worked at a major chemical company holding positions in engineering, corporate planning and development, and environmental control. In corporate planning, he analyzed the future plans of individual business units and advised both senior management and operations management regarding those plans. Within corporate development, he provided financial analysis and marketing support for a new venture. Tom earned a B.S. degree and Masters of Engineering (Chemical) from Cornell University, a Masters of Business Administration from Iona College, and Professional Engineer Registration (inactive) in New York State. |
