Vice President, Congressional and Federal Affairs
Thomas B. Chapman is US Airways’ Vice President, Congressional and Federal Affairs. He boasts more than 25 years of aviation-related experience in the governmental and legislative arenas. His responsibilities include US Airways’ federal lobbying efforts, regulatory issues and federal policy initiatives.
Prior to joining US Airways, Tom was legislative counsel for Southwest Airlines and led an industry wide effort to secure War Risk Insurance for airlines after the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. He also previously served as senior vice president for government and technical affairs for the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) in Washington, D.C.
Tom is a graduate of the American University School of Law in Washington and also a graduate of C.W. Post College in Greenvale, N.Y. He resides with his wife Mary Scott O’Connell and their son in Bethesda, Md.
