Mr. Luce served as United States Assistant Secretary of Education for Planning Evaluation and Policy Development from July 1 2005 until his resignation September 1 2006. He continues to serve as a consultant to the Department. From 1997 until 2005 Mr. Luce was a partner of the business advisory firm Luce & Williams Ltd. Before then Mr. Luce was a founding partner and managing partner of the law firm of Hughes & Luce LLP from 1973 until his retirement from the firm in 1997 and was Of Counsel with that law firm until December 2003. From October 1991 through April 1992 Mr. Luce was Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of First Southwest Company a Dallas-based investment firm that is a member of the National Association of Securities Dealers Inc. |
