Tom Cardy co-founded Beach Capital Advisors in 2002, to capitalize on the expertise, relationships and experience developed during a successful 25 year career in investment banking, public accounting and as a senior financial executive. Cardy has substantial experience providing merger and acquisition, corporate finance and financial advisory services and also has developed and undertaken investment opportunities involving turn-around, early expansion-stage, and growth-oriented ventures. Cardy served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director-Media and Entertainment Group for Communications Equity Associates (CEA) from 1991 until 1998, and again during 2002. At CEA, Cardy provided investment banking and advisory services to companies ranging from start-ups to public companies; and from work-out situations to successful, growing middle-market companies. He originally joined CEA in 1988 as Chief Financial Officer and served as Chief Operating Officer during 2000 and 2001. During 1999, Cardy served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Preview Travel (NASDAQ PTVL), a leading on line travel service. While at Preview, he negotiated the $600 million sale of Preview Travel to Travelocity.com, (NASDAQ TVLY). Cardy served as a member of Preview’s Board of Directors from 1991 until the company’s sale in March 2000, and was Chairman of Preview’s Audit Committee. He also spent 11 years with Arthur Andersen & Co., providing audit services and tax advice to public and private companies in the media, communications, real estate and agri-business industries. Cardy is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated with high honors from the University of Florida. He is a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, the Tampa Bay Technology Forum, the New World Angels Tampa Bay Chapter, and the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. |
