Dr. Ahern, a graduate of Lehigh University and Hahnemann University School of Medicine, joined the staff of the Scripps Clinic in 2004. Dr. Ahern specializes in the treatment of heart disease with an emphasis in caring for patients with abnormal heart rhythms, congestive heart failure (CHF), the management of implantable cardiac device technologies that are available now as permanent pacemakers, implanted defibrillators, and the newest devices that pace the two lower chambers of the heart for patients with CHF.
In addition to patient care, Dr. Ahern has authored numerous scientific articles presenting original research at regional, national and international meetings. He remains an active consultant within the medical device industry, working with emerging technologies and has multiple patent claim submissions to his credit.
Selected as a Top San Diego Doctor, Dr. Ahern hopes to assist the Scripps Clinic staff in its continuing effort to bring the latest in treatment and technological options to patients. A board certified Internist, he was also board certified in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology. |
