Thomas Urban's abilities as a visionary leader and an operational manager make him uniquely qualified to lead CHP's Southwest Ohio Region, a role he assumed in June 2002. Prior to accepting this position, Mr. Urban served as the region's senior vice president, Health Delivery, and as president of Mercy Hospital Fairfield. Previously, he had served as regional vice president, chief integration officer, and before that, he was president of the region's Mercy Hospital Hamilton/Fairfield for four years. Among his notable accomplishments are leading the creation of the open heart surgery program at Mercy Hospital Fairfield and overseeing the design, development, construction and operations of two state-of-the-art centers for health and wellness.
Prior to joining CHP, Mr. Urban served Beverly Hospital in Beverly, Mass. as executive vice president/chief operating officer. He also served as assistant vice president, Support Services, and then as vice president, Professional Services/Program Development, for Lee Memorial Health System in Fort Myers, Fla. His other experience includes serving as assistant vice president, Hospital Services, for Grandview Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.
Mr. Urban earned a bachelor's of arts degree in sociology from Colgate University and a master's of health administration from Xavier University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. His community activities include leadership roles with the Butler County United Way, the Greater Cincinnati Health Council and St. John's Parish in West Chester. |
