Thomas R. Williams is a Member of Kerr, Russell and Weber, PLC. Mr. Williams' practice is concentrated in the areas of immigration and naturalization law as well as labor and employment law representing management. Mr. Williams serves individual and corporate clients in a wide variety of industries. The services provided by Mr. Williams to his clients include the preparation of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions, preparation of labor certification cases, representation before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals, representation before the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services at the district, regional service center and port of entry levels, preparation of applications for naturalization and other services. In the labor and employment area, Mr. Williams advises clients on federal and state anti-discrimination laws, prepares and reviews employment manuals and related documents, and he represents clients before a variety of state and federal administrative agencies.
Mr. Williams is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, the Metropolitan Detroit Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He has served as Chairperson for the Michigan Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association from 2001 to 2003. He served for several years as Secretary of the Michigan Chapter of AILA. He is a past Chairperson of the International Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan. Mr. Williams has published articles and made presentations to a variety of groups on immigration and employment topics.
Mr. Williams is a 1984 graduate, cum laude, of Wayne State University Law School. He was a member of the Order of the Coif and was a Note and Comment Editor of the Wayne State University Law Review. Prior to entering law school, Mr. Williams held a number of administrative posts with the State of Michigan and achieved a masters in guidance and counseling from Wayne State University. Mr. Williams completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Detroit, summa cum laude, in 1968. |
